On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, BGCNW held their annual Golf Tournament at the picturesque GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills. Twenty-two foursomes, a total of 88 golfers, took to the links for a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and philanthropy. The funds raised at the event will provide scholarships and financial aid to hundreds of families in need of the Club’s Early Childhood Education, After-School Fun Club, and Teen programs.
The weather was perfect and the event venue provided the perfect setting for attendees to enjoy their philanthropy. Featured as one of Westchester Magazine’s “27 Beautiful Westchester County Golf Courses to Visit”, GlenArbor is the ideal setting for a golf outing. Avid golfer, BGCNW Board member, and Golf Committee Chair, A. Steve Alvarado welcomed golfers saying “We are thrilled to welcome you to our annual golf outing! As our local community continues to emerge from the after-effects of the pandemic, our Club remains an oasis for so many of our area youth; including our most underserved youth. Serving over 700 kids per day, the breadth and depth of our programs continue to strengthen due to the consistent support of many generous patrons in our community.”.
The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester is grateful to all those who contributed to the event’s success but wishes to extend special recognition to the event’s major sponsors; Andrew Handler, former Board member, and long-time Club supporter; and John Crabtree, current Board member; for the generosity of their donations and their continued endorsement of the Club’s mission and programs.
