Education
We provide a safe, enjoyable, and educational place for children grades K-7 to spend their time after school. The After School program provides homework help, a nutritious hot meal (prepared by a team from Ladle of Love), and daily physical activity, as well as mentoring and guidance, to hundreds of children each day. Nearly 70% of our children live at or near the poverty level and attend at little or no cost.
Book Buddies: one-to-one
For children identified as needing extra support, a one to one reading program for ages 7-9 via Skype to help youth with reading comprehension.
Power Hour Homework Help
Power Hour helps Club members ages 5-12 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities, and by encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Project Learn
High Yield Learning Activities, for Club members ages 5-12, reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school during the hours they spend at the Club. This comprehensive program strategy includes leisure reading, writing activities, discussions with knowledgeable adults, helping others, homework help and tutoring, and games like Scrabble that develop young people’s cognitive skills.
S.T.E.A.M.
STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) activity for ages 6–15, includes science experiments, creating and building various types of robotics, digital literacy and citizenship, and with this program it allows children to think outside of the box using critical thinking and mathematical skills.
Health & Wellness
Healthy Lifestyles
The Club provides a healthy, hot afternoon meal by Chefs from Ladle of Love to more than 200 Club members daily, along with teaching healthy eating and nutrition to members. We also send home backpacks of food on weekends to children and families in need.
SMART Moves
SMART (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) Moves activities, for ages 13-16, hone decision-making and critical-thinking skills, as well as teach how to avoid and/or resist alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and premature sexual activity.

SMART Girls
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls ages 13-18. Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
SMART Kids
SMART Kids is a group encouraging exercising, healthy eating habits, and social interaction for children ages 6–9.
Kid Smartz
Kid Smartz is a child safety program that educates youth and families about preventing abduction, body safety, and empowers kids in grades K-5 to practice safer behaviors. This program helps protect kids by introducing the four rules of personal safety through various engaging and age-appropriate activities.
Passport to Manhood
Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 13- 18. Through highly interactive activities which engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce positive behavior, each participant receives his own “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth.
Leadership & Service
Jr. Youth of the Year
This program promotes and celebrates service to Club, community and family; academic performance; moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. The Youth of the Year program is a year-round tool for fostering young people’s character, personal growth and leadership qualities.
Youth for Unity
Youth For Unity promotes and celebrates diversity and combats prejudice, bigotry, and discrimination.
Torch Club (Middle School)
For boys and girls ages 11-13, Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents. Members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation.
Millions Members Millions Hours
Million Members Million Hours is a initiative to involve Club kids and teens in service activities year-round. The purpose is to raise members’ awareness of community service opportunities and provide them with resources to undertake projects for their communities.
National Youth Outcomes Initiative Survey
The National Youth Outcomes Initiative (NYOI) is an anonymous survey given to Club kids aged 9 and up to measure their Club Experience and the degree to which they are achieving outcomes in the Clubs three priority areas: Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyle. NYOI gives Club members the opportunity to use their voice to effect progress and change within the Club.

Swim Lessons: 8 Week Program
Swim Lessons for children from ages 6 months – 16 years includes a once a week 30 minute swim session with our Swim Instructors and Lifeguards.
Triple Play’s Healthy Habits
This program is designed to incorporate healthy living and active learning for ages 6-15 in every part of the Club experience, emphasizing good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being.
