Prestigious ‘Women of Distinction Award’ Presented to Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester

It is one of the first of its kind for the Boys & Girls Clubs in New York state, with 12 evidence-based mental health interventions up and running.

Quarter Million Dollar Grant from Mother Cabrini Health Foundation

The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW) recently announced it has received a $250,000 grant from the Mother Cabrini Foundation, which will be used to provide mental health and wellness services in afterschool programming for up to 200 children ages 5 -12, and up to 200 youth ages 13-18 from low-income families.

It was Hats Off to 85 Years as more than 400 friends and supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW) were on hand June 7 for the 29th Annual Humanitarian Award Gala. The theme of the event — Hats Off to 85 Years –celebrated the Club’s 85th anniversary this year. The gala, which was held at the Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, raised approximately $800,000.

New York state leaders in government want to make water safety a priority.
Governor Kathy Hochul, as part of her budget plan, has proposed millions of dollars to expand access to safe swimming, boost free learn-to-swim programs, and expand municipal pools.
Swim clubs not only teach a lifelong skill, but also serve as a place where young people learn valuable life lessons and develop comradery among their peers.
It’s February break. But while schools are empty, the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester is packed.
At the Mount Kisco facility’s pool room, about two dozen are swimming laps.

January 5, 2024 – BGCNW. WPIX-11 news reporter, Ben Aaron, visited the Club to do a live spot on his morning segment of Ben Around Town. The feature highlighted our Learn-To-Swim program. Ben took a dip with our preschoolers, getting a private swimming lesson from Assistant Aquatics Director, Bob Rishel.
