Throughout the Summer Leadership Program we taught our teens job-readiness skills, financial literacy, goal setting and volunteerism.
The Road Map to Success project was a result of the teens doing an online career cluster interest assessment and subsequent research on that career including: the educational pathway necessary for that career, colleges and universities where they could receive that education, potential internship or work-study opportunities, potential and projected salaries, etc.
The teens then created a “Road Map” detailing their career path beginning with sophomore year in high-school. Some other activities we did include: learning to fill out a job application, resume writing and interviewing.
