Volunteers are always welcome! 

Working with our Club Members
Volunteers are welcome in the following program areas:

  • Social Programs – Mentors are needed for career guidance, college preparation and to help practice job and college interview skills.
  • Educational Program – Volunteers are needed for tutoring, homework help and general assistance in classrooms.
  • Healthy Lifestyle Program – Volunteer instructors in the area of nutrition, health and ware needed.
  • Arts Program – Volunteer instructors for art, photography, music, dance and drama are needed to help facilitate ours arts education program.
  • Sports Program – Volunteer coaches and instructors for soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf and other sports are needed to help facilitate fitness education program.

The Club is a state-licensed child care facility and all volunteers who will be working directly with children  are required to undergo a thorough screening process, following the guidelines set by the Office of Children and Family Services.

Program volunteer requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age, in accordance with the Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
  • Must attend a Volunteer Orientation at the Boys & Girls Club. Please contact Shantae Artis for more information about upcoming Volunteer Orientation sessions.
  • Complete a packet of paperwork as required by the Office of Children and Family Services, which includes a background check and other screenings.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Local youth frequently volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester to fulfill their school community service requirements. We welcome youth service and encourage participation in our programs. Opportunities to serve include participation in Club Days of Service and in special group projects.

Special Events

We depend on volunteers to run our Special Events, such as the Humanitarian Award Dinner, Youth of the Year and Golf Tournament.  Please contact John Tunas at jtunas@bgcnw.com or 914-666-8069 x 108 to volunteer at a specific event or to sign up for an event committee.
